One evening, I found myself in the waiting room of a department store photography studio at
Christmas time with my husband and four children ranging from 10 months to 16 years old.
They are all great kids, but as I watched them attempt to “sit still”, “be patient”, and “wait just a
little longer”, I began to think there had to be a better way.
That’s how the idea for Alleyway Photography started. It’s why I am happy to come to your
home or another place nearby where we can let you, your kids and/or your pets be as comfortable
as possible. That’s when we can capture those natural expressions and adorable reactions that you
love about your child at this stage in their life. For the older kids and teenagers, it means less of
“smiling for the birdie” and more pictures with their favorite pet, the instrument they play, or the
truck they’re restoring.
All of this is in the space where they are most comfortable and at their own pace.

Maternity and Newborn Portraits
Waiting for a baby is an exciting time. Lori likes to express the beauty of a woman during her
pregnancy. Many of those same clients also take advantage of her maternity and newborn
package. She returns during the first few weeks of the newborn’s life to take priceless portraits of
the new little life. She also offers storyboards as one of the many options available to you.
On-Location Photography
The ability to shoot on-location is important to Lori. She has children herself and realizes how
difficult it can be to get them to a studio and to achieve the natural smiles that you are looking
for. She believes that by letting kids be in their own space and allowing them to relax at their
own pace, she can present you with a true expression of who they are. Allowing them to play and
get comfortable takes time, and that is what she offers. Sessions start at 2 hours, but additional
time may be added if needed. The location for the session depends on what you and your family
(and even your pets) are comfortable with. Lori is always flexible. Her goal is that you enjoy your
session and love your fine portraits that result from it.
