When you make an investment with Alleyway Photography, you are making an investment in your family and the memories that you share together.

Our portrait creation fees start at $100 for a single family with up to 4 subjects; additional subjects are just $10 each. Your portrait creation fee includes the time and talent it takes to create your beautiful portraits. Other fees such as hourly event coverage, travel fees, etc., are in addition to your creation fee and will be discussed when you call to reserve your session.

All of our portraits 5x7 or larger are printed on beautiful, textured linen paper with a lustre finish applied. Then they are mounted to provide more durability so that they will give your family enjoyment for years to come.

Our studio offers personalized collections that include session ablums, collages and gift portraits.

Ordering Policies

We will set up a time for your ordering appointment 2-3 weeks after your portrait session which will include a slideshow presentation of your portraits and allow plenty of time for you to pick your favorites. After your ordering appointment, your images will be placed into a private, password protected online portrait gallery that you can share with your family and friends. This gallery will be available for 7 days. Additional blocks of 7 days are available for $25. Orders placed through the online gallery are not eligible for the early bird discount.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

We do request a 48 hour notice for all cancellations. We will glady apply your retainer to a newly scheduled session if you notify us 48 hours prior to your appointment. Short notice cancellations that do not allow 48 hours notice will be required to pay a new retainer fee to hold a new date. We do, of course, allow exceptions for ill children. We understand that kids get sick and we can't control that and neither can you. If your child is sick, we will gladly reschedule your session without incurring any additional fees.

Clothing

Clothing should be kept comfortable and simple for everyone with minimal patterns. Solid colors in neutral tones are ideal for complimenting skin tone, hair color and eyes. Classic styles such as jeans, khakis, overalls and sun dresses are perfect for keeping your portrait from "outdating" itself. For kids, leave the shoes at home; bare feet are best! For older children and adults, shoes should be clean and not distracting from the rest of the photograph. When working with multiple children, clothing should be coordinated for the best results. Hats, scarves and funky textures can be a lot of fun as well.

Newborn, Baby and Toddler Sessions

***Please consider the time of the day your child/children seem to be most awake and happiest when reserving a session appointment.***

We encourage parents to be involved in the portrait session, but ask you to please observe and not put pressure on your children to smile or to "behave". Children tend to get overwhelmed and distracted when several people are watching and/or trying to get them to smile. We will talk with your child and let them play. The more relaxed your child is the better their true self will come out in the photographs. We don't use many props, instead we prefer to concentrate on the child. However, we encourage you to bring along personal items of your child's such as a favorite toy, blanket or teddy bear.

Babies

Beautiful, new, bare baby skin is best, but feel free to bring along a few favorite outfits as well. When selecting clothing for baby, try to stay away from shirts with collars that don't lie flat and outfits that baby may look "swallowed" in. If you are going to be photographed with baby, stick to long sleeve, dark colored shirts or turtlenecks. This will help keep the focus on baby and your faces rather than bare arms.

Toddlers

Toddlers are one of our favorite age groups to photograph. They are full of special qualities and have some of the most unique personalities of anyone we have ever met! During your toddler's session, please remember that we know toddlers and who they are at this age. Don't worry if your toddler has been shy with other photographers. We will do our best to be patient, understanding, caring and ready to capture their uniqueness during this time in their lives. And mom's, please don't feel stressed if your toddler cries or gets upset. We always allow plenty of time for snacks, playing and even some cuddling time with mom.

Referrals

Our clients love working with us! And we are thrilled when they bring their friends and family to our studio to enjoy the same beautiful work for their own family. With every order, all of our clients receive their own set of customized referral cards to share with their family and friends. When someone they have given a referral card to brings it to us, we give the person who referred them and the new client coming to try us out a complimentary 8x10 as our way of saying "Thank You" for trusting us with your family memories.
